My passion for hockey started at a very young age. I began skating on the pond behind my grandparent's house soon after learning to walk. Hockey has been a great way to connect with my dad who introduced me to the game. Hockey is a bond that we have shared since I was four years old. It quickly became apparent that I loved the game and playing on a team and being part of that atmosphere. Hockey has taught me how to lead and take charge, as well as, how to play a support role and be a dedicated teammate. I have learned how do whatever it takes to be a team player even if that means going down and blocking a shot. My high school coach has instilled in me the character taught in Romans 12:1 regarding being a living sacrifice for your teammates on and off the ice.
My goal for the remaining time in high school is to do everything with excellence. Academically, I want to graduate with a GPA of 3.5 or higher and do well on my standardized testing. I want to continue to be a part of building a great hockey program at my school. I desire to continue to lead our team as a captain and be a witness to those around me. My aspirations for college is to find a school that has a great business program that would equip me for my career. I would like to find an institution that challenges me academically but also provides me the opportunity to continue to play the sport that I love.
I have a strong desire to continue to develop as a hockey player. I have faced many important decisions regarding where to go to high school, where was the best fit to play hockey and whether to focus only on hockey or play multiple sports. I am grateful that I am able to rely on my faith in God to help me make these important life decisions. My relationship with God is extremely important to me and I continue to put my trust in Him. God has blessed me with both skills and character qualities that I believe would make me a valuable asset to any college hockey program. I have the drive and perseverance to excel both academically and at the rink. I have exhibited strong leadership skills as a team captain and throughout many areas of my life. I am very coachable and have a strong desire to learn and improve. My coaches have observed my great vision and ability to see plays unfold before they happen which helps me to make plays and score goals. I believe that my experiences, character, and skills will make me a great addition to the right school.
