Mitch Knapp '13 Recruiting Profile

My name is Mitch Knapp and I am a sophomore at Olentangy Orange High School in Lewis Center, Ohio. I am Six feet tall, 165 pounds. For the past 5 years I have been playing for the Ohio AAA Blue Jackets hockey organization in Columbus, Ohio, where I maintained a captaincy position. I played in a myriad of big-name tournaments for my 95 birth-year team; tournaments including The Peewee International Invite in Quebec, Ontario, The Nike International Invite in Chicago, Illinois, and the Hamilton Reps AAA invite in Hamilton, Ontario, just to name a few. This past year I have decided to take a year to focus more on my studies and play for my High School team. So far, I am maintaining a 3.67 GPA in high school. I am looking for a university that will give me future options in the job market. Since I haven't made a career choice yet, this will give me the opportunity to make career choices when given the opportunity. I have an open mind-set when it comes to university opportunities. From a hockey standpoint, I am looking for a organization that will push me from a determination and competitive standpoint. This will make me become better, not just as a player, but as a person as well. My strongest attribute on the ice is my defensive mind. I rarely make defensive mistakes and play a strong "stay at home" style.
