My Heart belongs to Hockey! In college, I want to start out in general studies to give me time to make final decisions. I want to participate in hockey at every level because I love the sport so much. My dream would be a player on a NHL team, but I would like to play at any level. After college I would like to be a coach either at the college level or high school. My former coach and mentor, Jason Domitrivic, has been a tremendous inspiration to me because of his examples as a coach but also as the type of person he is. Since early childhood I have participated in so many different sports - roller hockey, football, basketball, baseball, soccer, lacrosse, and downhill skiing, but my true love is ice hockey! My greatest joy is working with the team. It is my hockey coaches I owe so much to my growth as a player and as a person.
I have a learning disability, dyslexia, so school academics have been a struggle. But I am learning to work with it thanks to many teachers and I have been able to adjust and to grow beyond it. My grades have improved dramatically over the last two years. I would like to go into financial planning, but I am also interested in political science, becoming a professional chef or maybe a fireman/EMT.
I enjoy hobbies. Fly-fishing is high on the list and also taking care of several aquariums full of fish, shrimps and snails in my home. I also enjoy traveling, especially the trips to Condega, Nicaragua with the Bend Sister City Foundation. We traveled to the rural communities to deliver water filters, but we concentrated on the special needs school and the deaf community providing school uniforms and supplies as well as medical equipment to local medical center.
I have had the opportunity to work for a year and a half at a car wash, and the last few months now I am working as a dishwasher at a local restaurant. I have demonstrated a strong work ethic with getting to work on time, getting along with customers and co-workers.
My parents and grandparents have given me the necessary support to succeed both academically and in building my character to grow into the person I want to be.
