To me, being able to strive to be my best in whatever it is I decide to pursue is most important. Whether it is athletics, academics or volunteering I try and always put my best effort forward. Does this mean I will be the best at what it is I am pursuing? No. But it does mean that who ever is depending on me (teammates, coaches, teachers, friends, parents, etc.) will always know that I will always put my best effort forward and compete at the highest level I can achieve. There may be better skilled athletes but I will never get outworked by anyone.
I love being part of a team. The camaraderie, the friendships, the bond that you develop with your teammates over a season is like nothing out there. Giving everything you have with other like minded individuals to reach a common goal, irregardless of personal goals or gains, is the best thing that can happen for any athlete.
My hope is to pursue my loves of science and mathematics in college with the end goal of medicine, engineering or becoming a veterinarian. To be perfectly honest I haven't narrowed my end goal down to just one professional choice. I just know that I love science and math and those are the disciplines I would very much like to pursue.
