I want to be the best that I can possibly be as an athlete and in education. My goals are to play at the highest level possible, but also maintain the grades to be successful in my college career. I am unlike most athletes because I care about my grades just as much as my hockey career. In my mind you need to have good grades, so you can play the game. Also, having good grades will make it easier to get into a college I would like to attend.
My GPA is a 4.3. I have weighted classes which is why it is above a 4.00. One reason that I have good grades is because I am competitive and self-motivated. I am always trying to get the best grades in the class. On the ice I am this way too. I am always trying to come in first in sprints and puck races. Also, I prepare for tests or graded assignments and I always turn things in on time. Just like before a game, I am visualizing what I will need to do to help my team win and I am always ready in time for practices and, most certainly, games. Preparing during the off season is my favorite. I am very into weight lifting and hockey specific drills to help improve my game.
My game is very good offensively, but I work just as hard on defense too. One of the best assets to my game is my goal scoring capability. On all of my teams I am known for being able to put the puck in the net. Coaches are always putting me on the ice for power plays and important times when we need a goal. Also, I lead by example. I am always on the ice for the start of the game to set the pace and show that my team has came to play. Finally, I like to be in the moment when it comes to playing; always cheering my teammates on and talking to them on the ice, for an example; "HEY YOU HAVE TIME!"
Now a little about myself outside of hockey and school. I like playing golf in my free time. I've been playing golf since I was 5. I play in tournaments and play for fun with friends and family. I love to hang with my friends. I've been close to most of them since squirt and mite hockey. I like to lift weights and do cross fit as well.
