Gage Despins '13 Recruiting Profile

Hello my name is Gage Despins and my life revolves around school and hockey. I have been playing hockey since I was four; I was on skates as soon as possible. I grew up in Winnipeg, Manitoba playing in our backyard-rink for hours on end. However my hockey abilities truly strengthened after I moved to San Antonio, Texas and focused on my abilities and play. In addition, I prosper in academics; engaging in every honors class available. I am in the process of taking 3 AP courses with the rest of my courses being advanced. In addition my grades are exemplary and proficient, receiving mostly A's and B's with a 3.8 GPA. My hockey play is also proficient; I have lead my teams in scoring and points for the past three years. My domination in our High School League is well-known as well as my travel team. My personal success as well as my team's success has shown for my recent team won the state championship and my current team played in the 2012 Nationals tournament in Greenbay, Wisconsin. I am also the captain for the Knoxville travel team in which we held a 23-10-3 record. My hope and desire is to play any kind of high-level college hockey. My ambition is to train, practice, and prospere in the sport of hockey, increasing my ability as an athlete.
