Lucas Despins '13 Recruiting Profile

For as long as I can remember I have known that I was going to college. And for all that time I was also doing what i loved most in this world; playing hockey. Now it is evident that I have a great desire to combine the two and play hockey while in secondary school. From the first time I slid onto the frozen pond in our backyard until my practice yesterday, there has been no doubt in my mind that hockey is, and always will be, my true passion. My hockey career started in Winnipeg, Manitoba at the ripe age of four. I have taken my passion through the plains of Texas and through the hills of Tennessee. Along the way i have won state championships, numerous league championships, and an abundant amount of tournaments. I am the captain of my high school hockey team and have led the team to two state tournaments, finishing third and second in state. This last season I led the league in assists, goals, and points. This led to the dignified honour of league Offensive MVP, league Playmaker, and state individual MVP. I persevere, lead, and fully commit to everything I do. I take honour and AP classes all while maintaining a 3.74 GPA. My dream is to play hockey at a collegiate level, and I hope to achieve it.
