Personal Statement

I have always had a passion for flight and aviation. I want to pursue my academic goals and combine them with my love of playing hockey or baseball in college. I would like to study aviation and/or aerospace engineering, or similar, and continue to play as long as possible.

I think I would be an asset for your team because I am a loyal, dedicated, and unselfish team member. My worth ethic extends beyond the classroom and onto the field/rink. I am willing to do the work to improve my weaknesses.  My strengths include a high hockey/baseball IQ, speed, and coachability. I have  been an assistant captain on both baseball and hockey teams. I like rallying my teammates to work hard, challenge themselves, and show up to our games on time and excited to play.

BASEBALL

I have been playing baseball for 12 years. I have played Little League, including LL All-Star Teams, select baseball tournament teams, and high school baseball. I have been on the Varsity Baseball Team for Sammamish High School for 3 years - so far! I primarily play 2nd base and pitcher.  I have been a volunteer coach at the First Swing Foundation summer camps and travelled with the Foundation to Vietnam to help teach Vietnamese students baseball skills, and to gain an appreciation for my own opportunities. I am also a trained umpire and umpired many LL games for 11-12 year olds.

HOCKEY

I have been playing hockey for over 10 years. During the regular season, I have played for Sno-King Amateur Hockey Association in the MHL and PNAHA hockey leagues. With my teams, I've traveled for tournaments in WA, OR, ID, PA, and BC (Canada). In the off-season, I play in the Western Washington High School Hockey League. During the summer, I have been a volunteer coach for the Get Ready! Hockey Camps for 2 years. I currently play for Seattle Junior 18U AA NW Admirals, and we're just starting our season in a PA tournament (Sept17-19).

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
