Aeden Szopinski '19 Recruiting Profile

My name is Aeden Szopinski and I appreciate the opportunity to share a little about myself.  I love the sport of Lacrosse and enjoy both field and box.  Our High School team moved up to Division 1  last year and had a solid season.  We finished our 2018 season strong with nine wins in a row before losing in the state semi-final game.  We are looking forward to being a top contender again next season.  Our Coach Nick Hillier is a former Arizona State Lacrosse Captain who made huge contributions in the improvement of our team game.

Coach, Ben Prepchuk, is a former professional box lacrosse player and former Head Coach of the Arizona State University Men's Lacrosse team.  As my former high school head coach and current travel team coach, he introduced me to the game of box lacrosse.  It has been a great tool in sharpening my accuracy and reaction time on the field.

The majority of my time off of the field is spent between time with my family, hitting the weight room 4 days a week and of course working hard to ensure my academic success.  I enjoy running and compete on the Varsity Cross Country team.  I have also completed several races including multiple 5k races, a half marathon and a couple of sprint triathlons.

It is my goal to compete at the college level in Lacrosse and to successfully complete a degree in engineering.  I offer a top notch work ethic on and off the field, exceptional athleticism and a strong desire to succeed.
