*****COMMITTED-St. John’s University *****
Hello, my name is Ryder Ochoa and I have been playing lacrosse for three years now. I am going to now be a sophomore at La Costa Canyon High School in Carlsbad, California.
I have played other sports including Football, Basketball, and Baseball but I have more passion and love for the sport of lacrosse. Since I have played all of those sports, to me, lacrosse is a mix of all the techniques that I have learned over the course of playing all 4 sports. From the very first tryout, I was completely hooked in. I always have a stick in my hand and make it a point to practice everyday. I started out as a defensive midfielder because the skill obviously was not there but the raw talent was. Since then, I have molded myself into a strong aggressive offensive midfielder. On the field I lead my team not only on the sideline when I am not in the game but also when I am in the game and making sure people are in correct spots, everyone has a good attitude and making sure we get the job done to the best of our abilities.
A huge collegiate goal of mine is to attend a great academic school and be a part of the lacrosse team. It has always been a dream of mine since I was young and with the right amount of work and dedication I truly believe that it is an achievable goal for myself. I am a hard worker on and off the field if that means small group workouts, privates, shoot arounds, anything that I can do to get my hands on a stick I will do. I feel like my mentality towards my work and my craft makes me different from the rest of the crowd.
