Ever since I picked up a lacrosse stick in second grade, I knew there was something about this sport that made me want to play. In my first few years, I learned as much as I could about different positions. Then one day when I was playing U9, my coach asked who could play our team's goalie. I knew it had to be me. Stepping up to that task was challenging as I had never even considered it, but looking back, it was the best decision I ever made. Playing goalie made me love the game even more. I thrive on responsibility, challenge, and adrenaline. The fraternity that being on a team has brought me has become an invaluable part of my life. It is what drives me to keep playing, even as the challenges increase. I love the game, but also the brotherhood. I was pulled up to our varsity team to start as a freshman. Dealing with the pressure was one of the most difficult experiences in my life. But under that pressure, I grew tremendously. I became someone my teammates could rely on for leadership, encouragement, and humility. I want to continue to grow as a person, player, and teammate moving forward into my college career. My education has always been a priority in my life and I put maximum effort into my schoolwork. I want to continue to challenge myself both mentally and physically as a student-athlete in college.
