William Taylor '24 Recruiting Profile

Now in my senior year, I look forward with excitement to the opportunity to play my senior year and then in college, both for my teams and for my continued self-development. I enjoy challenges, and one that I am continuing to overcome is the effect of Covid on my grades. Distance learning was difficult for me, and I ended up needing to repeat my sophomore year. While my current GPA is an overall 2.6, it's been brought up to this from the 1.7 I carried going into my repeat sophomore year. I believe this shows my resilience and my ability to improve and overcome hardships. It’s this same drive to improve that I want to bring to a team. I also recently posted my SAT score of 1350 (610 math, 740 reading & writing), another indication that academic abilities will be an asset.

Another benefit of being one of the older players on the team is that I can help the younger players. I enjoy teaching and my Coach has asked me to mentor the younger goalies. I really enjoy sharing skills and tips and seeing them put the things they have learned into play. It's this same experience and confidence I use to communicate effectively with my defense.
