Wells Stecker '12 Recruiting Profile

My name is Wells Stecker and I play goalie for Riverside Military Academy. I have been playing lacrosse competitively for six years and I have started on every team I have ever played for. My goal is to play lacrosse for a college where I can receive a good education. I run a 4.9 forty and a 5:42 mile. Although my team did not keep Statistics I was able to calculate a 69% save average from the two games that I received stats from the other team. On the field I offer good defensive communication, having trained as both a defensemen and an attackmen, I am a diverse player. I play very aggressively and I am not scared to leave the crease to make a play, however at the same time I can distinguish when it is and when it is not safe to exit the crease. Being in charge of 350 cadets at my military school and being a team captain for two years has equipped me with the leadership abilities necessary to lead an effective defense and motivate my teammates. I am looking for a school with a strong support system for their student athletes and a reputation for producing academic and athletic results. In the classroom I offer a student who is focused on making better than good grades. I maintain a 3.5 GPA and a 1630 SAT. I push myself in the classroom as well as on the field having taken AP and honors classes.Playing lacrosse in college and possibly at the professional level is a goal I surround my life with. I am committed, determined, and relentless on both the lacrosse field and in the classroom.
