Personal Statement

Hello Coach,

I am a junior who loves the game of lacrosse.  I have played both sides of the ball but defense is my passion. I love breaking down film and discussing schemes. I have played O-Line/TE so I'm critical about footwork, positioning, stick skills, and I take pride in being a d-pole with a solid left. I aspire to get my degree in sports medicine, physical therapy, or sports management so when I am done playing I can continue to be part of the development of other young athletes. I'm also looking at an education path that could help me become a federal officer like a special agent.
During travel I have played up in age divisions. I have played for True Mountain West a regional All-star team and True National (Black). Even though I am from Idaho by the time I become a player for you I will have played from California to Long Island many times. As a teammate I make sure to help the JV guys when I can, set-up/tear down for practice and be positive. I go hard on my teammates during drills and I expect them to do the same to me.
One thing that makes me different from other players my age and even many players older than me is my coach-ability. I won't back talk or try to justify what I did. I welcome criticism and I am immediately able to make adjustments on the field. I want to continue to grow as a player, I'm not afraid to discuss my mistakes and learn from them.
I am looking for a college lacrosse team that wants to compete for championships, play against the best competition in the US and build lasting relationships. To me playing in college is an opportunity to see different parts of our country meet new people, cultures, I would not have otherwise.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
