The work I put in on and off the field, as well as the classroom, helps to shape who I am. I get up early to work out with the Varsity football team 4 out of 5 days during the week. The work I put in the weight room translates directly to the field in every sport I play, especially lacrosse. I've gotten stronger, faster, and mentally tougher. Though LSM is my primary position I can sub on defense when needed. My box play also gives me the added benefit of being able to play short stick if need be. I pride myself on the way I can play a whole game so aggressively even when tired, and I've learned that with a win or even a loss I can still learn from what I did to impact that outcome as well as become a better player and teammate.
There are 3 things that mean a lot to me and I think every athlete/team should have. The first is teamwork and teamwork means everything to me. I work hard to adjust my style of play to the different teams I play on in order to make the biggest positive impact for the team. The second is confidence and grit. Confidence is something every team member should have because without confidence it is impossible to play at our best and grit is the determination to keep going even if you are tired because you need to keep playing for your team. The last thing is motivation or a drive to win and to go out on the field and give it my /our all.
