I am a student athlete at Crystal Lake South High School. I have enjoyed played varsity football and lacrosse during my high school years. I have played lacrosse for a total of 11 years. I am committed to do whatever I need to do to play lacrosse in college. I have always known that I have loved playing lacrosse. As I have been reflecting on my years of playing I have come to realize that it is not only playing lacrosse that I love, it is also the other aspects that comes along with it. I can honestly say that I have learned something from every single coach that I have played for. My coaches have taught me fundamental skills, numerous plays and how to play smart in all game scenarios. They have also taught me how to push myself, encourage teammates and try new things. I have also formed close friendships with my teammates over the years. I have not only benefited from having those close friendships on the field but off the field as well. I have learned that my teammates and I are friends that can count on each other on and off the field.
As I enter my senior year in high school, I am excited for my journey ahead. I want to continue playing lacrosse in college because I love the sport. My high school teammates and I will have a great last season together, but the idea of becoming part of a new team and meeting new teammates is exciting.
I am deciding between a Business Major and an Education Major. The business field intrigues me and I have enjoyed a few business classes in high school. I am also interested in the field of Education for a few reasons. One reason is that both of my parents are educators and I see the many ways in which they help students be successful. I also have been inspired by my football coach as he is a Special Ed. teacher and he shares the many successes he experiences with his students and that intrigues me. I plan on speaking to my high school counselor as well as the representatives in college to answer my questions to help me decide.
