I hadn’t taken lacrosse very seriously starting until the summer going into my sophomore year of high school. I played jv my freshman year, and after seeing other players on varsity with much higher skill-sets, I realized that if I wanted to improve, it would take much sacrifice and determination. Up until this time, I had always played lots of sports, and I mostly focused on soccer. My focus in life started to shift towards just lacrosse and school. Since then I’ve taken every chance or resource I had to better myself overall as a player whether that be playing wall-ball, going for runs, watching film, lifting weights, etc. I see myself as a determined and ambitious individual, whether that be in the classroom, on the field, or anywhere else. This was exhibited in how I went from playing jv my freshman year of high school to being a starter on varsity as a sophomore. I show my work ethic in the classroom as well by maintaining a good GPA, being a National Honor Society Member, making honor roll, and joining the National Society of High School Scholars… all while playing two varsity sports (lacrosse & soccer).
I have a very strong intrinsic motivation to succeed. I am a natural competitor, and a born leader. I try to surround myself with other strong competitors and bring other people up with me. I have always been motivated to make my parents proud because they have always been my biggest supporters, and they have done so much for me in sports and life in general.
I make it a point of emphasis to learn from my mistakes. I watch countless hours of film, and go back to see every little mistake I make, or thing I could have done better. I then make sure to practice these things and try to perfect whatever can be done to prevent those mistakes from happening again.
I’m a very adaptable person and player, which allows me to fit in in many different playing and coaching styles. I have been fortunate to have many good coaches, and they have all been very different in their styles. My adaptability and work ethic make me believe I could be a great candidate and fit for your team!
