I am Anthony Hayes, and I'm a rising senior at De LaSalle Collegiate High School. I am a hardworking student that consistently strives for excellence both in the classroom and on the field. My favorite subject is science and I am a member of our school's medical club. I currently have a 3.4 GPA with all honors and AP classes. As of my junior year I have been enrolled into the rigorous International Baccalaureate program with a full IB class course load. I am excited about the prospect of playing lacrosse in college, but also want to make sure my academics are taken care of first. My goal is to become a physical therapist one day, so I would consider a major in biology, kinesiology, or sports science for my undergraduate degree. My college of choice will depend on the school's reputation for both academics and athletics.
I've been playing sports for as long as I can remember which has taught me many things about myself, about life and has fueled my love for athletics. I have played football for 12 years and plan on continuing through the rest of high school. I started my lacrosse career in the fifth grade playing for my school team and never stopped. Since then, I have played on several indoor and outdoor club teams including box lacrosse. In high school, I also started powerlifting which I know will only help me improve my abilities on the field in both football and lacrosse. In addition, I enjoy golfing with my friends and my dad.
As a player, I don't just enjoy playing sports, I am inspired by the competition. I have a high lacrosse IQ and a good vision from playing several box seasons which helped me see things from the offense's perspective. I am an avid listener and am always trying to improve my game in any way I can. I'm not afraid of taking on leadership roles and am currently the captain for my high school team. Off the field, as a member of the student council, I helped organize our homecoming dance. In my spare time, I enjoy assisting the coaches from my former middle school as well as the middle school club teams running drills and influencing future lacrosse players. Most importantly, I always play for God and say a prayer with my teammates before every game.
