Branden Willenbring '22 Recruiting Profile

    Dear Prospective Coach:  My name is Branden Willenbring.  I am a 6'2" 175lb LSM/D from Rogers High School in Minnesota.  I started playing the game of lacrosse when I was 11 years old and quickly developed a love for the game.  Playing lacrosse over the years has taught me that nothing comes easy and you have to work for success.  At the start of my Freshman season, I ended up on the Junior Varsity team. Through skills clinics, extra training from coaches as well as time spent in the weight room and studying the game, I earned a spot on the Varsity team after my fourth game and had significant playing time the remainder of the season.  My knowledge of the game and skills continue to develop and as I finish my Junior season.  I intend to be a contributing factor towards my teams success in 2022. Not only do I use what I have learned for my teams success, I also volunteer as a student coach for the Rogers Youth Lacrosse Association.  This summer I will be playing for the 2022 MN True State AA team and will travel to the NXT Meltdown in Downington, PA on 6/26-27 as well as the NXT Grand Prix in Westfield, IN on 7/17 -18 .  My dedication and hard work for the game of lacrosse doesn't stop on the field.  In the classroom, I have maintained a 3.8 GPA and received an academic excellence award in the spring of 2019, 2020 , 2021, a member of the National Honor Society and received an academic letter for 2021. My academic goals for the remainder of my High School career is to continue to receive awards for my academic achievements and to improve my GPA.

    Some skills I have as a player are speed, ball control, being able to keep up with dodging offensive players, focusing on the game while not getting mentally worn out, and giving 110% for 4 quarters.  At 6'2", I have a long stride and can keep up with anybody on the field.  During clears, I am set up as an outlet for players to pass to me because I have the ability to move the ball up field and dodge opposing playing players effectively.  Not only do I have the athletic ability, I also have the necessary mental toughness and knowledge to be a great asset to your team.
