Coming from a single-parent family, I have been exposed to adversity as I grew up. It has helped shape me as the person, athlete, and leader I am today. These hardships pushed me to become more patient. More empathetic. It taught me that I needed to work hard for what I wanted; harder than others. As I matured I learned how to use these traits both in the classroom and on the field (with teammates, teachers, coaches, etc.) The adversity I had to deal with felt like burdens, but really pushed me to add new understandings that I would need in the future. I truly feel though, that my greatest trait is my work ethic. I have developed a "shadow boxing" mentality, as I don't work hard to beat the guy next to me, but to beat myself. The only way to succeed is to outwork yesterday's progress. My high motor is why I am in this position I am in today. I hope to continue my athletic and academic level at the highest level. I also plan to study criminology and pursue a career in law or litigation.
