AJ Bolger '17 Recruiting Profile

I am a driven student athlete who looks to excel in whatever I pursue.  Throughout my younger years I have been motivated by my desire to work hard.  My parents have always instilled in me the desire to do my best in whatever I do.  I have worked to spread that desire across not only my sports but my academics career.  I take pride in my work and that I continue to make honor roll and challenge myself in taking more advanced classes.  I continue that pride in my sports and other extracurricular activities.  I am currently a member of the high school Lacrosse team.  In the 2015 season I played on the varsity team on defense, starting a good part of the season.   I was previously the starting LSM on the high school JV lacrosse team and the lead defensive long pole and a member of the man down squad as well in 2014.  I am currently a three season lacrosse player.  I currently play for Brotherhood Lacrosse in the fall and Bear Clan Lacrosse in the summer.  I am also attending various showcases and camps to help refine my skills and continue my growth as a player and team mate.  My sports and academics are just one facet of what defines me.  I am active in my community working with younger wrestlers and lacrosse players to not only help share my knowledge of the sport but also to help foster their love for the sport.  All athletes, in my opinion, seem to excel with someone helping them who is younger and has been there, in their shoes.  I know the coaches are great, but sometimes it's the words of encouragement from an older player, to help them succeed.  I take great pride in my ability to help them.  I am also active within the community at large with my Church and work volunteering when the opportunity arises.  I currently involved with the West Milford High School “Pals” program, a peer program that assists with the incoming freshman and volunteers throughout the year at various events.  I am looking for a college where I can continue my academic successes along with continuing to play Lacrosse; within an environment I can also continue my personal growth.
