Personal Statement

Playing lacrosse at the College level has always been a big dream of mine. My family and I travel to games at Canisius, Michigan and to Philadelphia for the NCAA final four. I’ve adapted my game over the years to maintain a top scorer in the league. Constantly watching NCAA games to improve my skills. Every time I put on my helmet, I give it my all to become a better player and a post-secondary athlete. I’ve played many sports at a high level but I truly love lacrosse like no other. It is a mix between physicality, finesses and it’s the fastest game on two feet.

My first quality is my dedication. The commitment to my team means a lot to me. I will never miss a practice, team meeting or game. Lacrosse is my main priority. My second quality is my work ethic. Even though the season ends in August and begins again in April, I'm still training all year around. Even in 20 cm of snow and -15 degrees, I am constantly striving to be a better player. Every day I have my stick in my hand either playing with my brother or with the wall. I’m always working on my ability to control the ball, face-offs, my off-hand, footwork and dodging. I’m also training 5 times a week in the gym. I focus on my agility, strength, stamina and my mental strength. The reason I have such a complete game is that I put in the time and the work. My ability to slow down the game from X and control the defence is a very good strength of mine. My vision to find other teammates and ability to put the ball in the net is a talent I have from working on it outside of the field. My last and best quality is my Leadership. I find that a team plays much better when they play as a unit. It is not 1 person that wins the game is it a team effort. That is what myself and the other captains help teach the other members of our team. Once we started playing for each other we were performing much better. We in fact won our 2 tournaments and Playoffs. I love playing with my teammates because they are my brothers. They know that I have their back no matter what. Even though I had the most goals on the team, nothing beats winning with your teammates.

In conclusion, I have all the tools to become a sensation in the NCAA game. I will be a very good teammate and will help the team to win at all cost. I will put everything on the line to help the team have lots of success. With my dedication, work ethic, leadership, vision, technical skills and ability to score I am a huge help to your team and threat to the others.

Thank you, Mavryck Gatt.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
