Maxwell Barney So...Personal Statement
My passion for lacrosse started later than most. I have always played AA travel hockey and played travel soccer through fall of my freshman year. I first picked up a lacrosse stick in the spring of my freshman year when I went to the school tryouts. Within the first week, I discovered the love of the game and more specifically, that I love being a goalie. Coach Michael Albert is the Head Lacrosse Coach at Canisius High School. He is also the Coach for the 2023 Performax Prep Lacrosse team where I am the starting goalie.
I am the starting goalie for Canisius Winter Indoor Lacrosse team for the 2021/22 year and did so last year as well. We are currently undefeated in league play, recently besting the St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute Varsity team. I am also the starting Varsity Lacrosse Goalie for Spring 2022, my second year starting for the varsity team.
My other Lacrosse accomplishments are being named one of two goalies on the Western Regional Team for the 2021 NYS Regional Championships games that were held July 19th-21st in Albany, NY. I was also named 2nd Team All-Catholic in the Monsignor Martin League representing Canisius High School.

- I am the only goalie for Team Canisius. This team is only open to Canisius High School students. We play other schools in the area every Thursday all winter. As of 2/22/22, we are undefeated.
