Lacrosse has always been a part of my life since I can remember. Having both parents who played and coached, they instilled the love of the game in me.
Lacrosse has enabled me to take my position as a Goalie and be a strong leader and teammate. These are both extremely important skills to have not only in the game but in life off the field. I have been on Varsity Lacrosse on John Glenn since my Freshman year. In the Spring 2023 Season, I won the starting Varsity Goalie spot on the team and received Suffolk All County Honors with 126 saves in only 10 games.
Besides lacrosse, I play football in the fall. I was recently moved to linebacker and it has taught me so much about leadership that I didn’t know before. The linebacker position and goalie are very similar when it comes to leading on the field. In the 2022 football season, I was captain of the JV football team and later in the season I got pulled up to varsity for playoffs. During playoffs on Varsity is when I played linebacker. I had been playing wide receiver my whole life. Switching positions was a challenge that I embraced head on.
When it comes to the academics, I have a 3.7 GPA and am always challenging myself to do better. I am not afraid to push myself and take more difficult classes. My sophomore year, I took 3 honors classes (English, Algebra and World History) and have taken Italian for four years. After school I am involved in the Habitat for Humanity Club and the Italian Club. My favorite subject is Biology which I took last year and got a 92 on the regents. For my junior year I am looking forward to taking AP classes. I am interested in continuing my love for Biology in college or possibly Business.
Outside of school, I volunteer for the Elwood Youth Lacrosse club. I truly enjoy working with the elementary school level children and teaching them the fundamentals of the game. My hobbies include fishing, skiing, and self teaching myself how to play guitar.
