I started playing lacrosse when I was in the third grade and loved it ever since. When I was in fifth grade, I attended a lacrosse clinic and while there, I was approached by the coach of the Buffalo Storm club team asking if I was interested in playing on his team. I jumped on that opportunity and played with them unitl seventh grade. The team eventually broke apart and the coach started an independent team called Mission Lacrosse, however, it only lasted one season. During this one season we were able to compete against some competitive teams and played fairly well.
During the 2015 season, I played JV lacrosse for my school, West Seneca East Senior, I was a starter at midfield. I would do what my coach asked whether it was playing shut down defense, winning a face off, or making a game deciding play. I led the team with 22 goals, 16 assists, and received offensive MVP at the end of the year. For the 2016 season, as a sophomore, I was selected to play on the Varsity Lacrosse team for my school, an accomplishment that I am very proud of. For the 2017 season, I was a starter at midfield taking face offs, something I have been working hard towards. Academics are very important to me, I take my school work very seriously. Since Fourth grade I have held honor or high honor roll status. If I receive a grade lower than my ususal, I tend to take it very hard on myself and try as much as possible to make sure it does not happen again. I stay after for extra assistance and/or review. School comes first before anything, before sports, before work, its my main focus.
Outside of school and lacrosse I enjoy a few hobbies. One being golf, I am not serious about golf nor am I very good, but its a good time with friends and family. I also love to snowboard when time permits. During middle school, I was involved in the ski club and I hope to be able to do ski club again in the remaining years of high school. I play hockey, I have played since I was four years old. I have played for the Southtown Stars house teams for many years, last year I played for 16U travel team. I also play hockey for my school, I played modified for one year and then JV for two years. When I was a sophmore, I made the Varsity Hockey team. I also work as a level two hockey referee. I will work 3-5 games per week at local rinks. Being a referee is something I not only enjoy, but I am still able to be out on the ice and able to assist other hockey players with the game. Lastly, one other hobby of mine, is that I like to string lacrosse sticks whether it's for myself, for fun or for other people.
My goal right now is to be able to go to college and be able to play lacrosse. I am very realistic if this cannot happen, but I would like to stay focused on this goal. My academics are the most important and do come before anything else. I hope and plan to keep honor roll status and keep working hard to maintain that. As a lacrosse midfielder, my goals are to continue to learing the sport and to become a better team player.
