I was born and raised in New Jersey until I completed the 7th grade. I have been playing lacrosse since 5th grade, and for 3 years I played attack, until we moved to Waxhaw, North Carolina. When my father’s company transferred him to North Carolina, I was in 8th grade and played lacrosse for my middle school. I am currently a sophomore and I have played varsity lacrosse both freshman and sophomore year, and I have played on a summer tournament team for the past 2 years. I enjoy the sport of lacrosse and when I arrived in North Carolina and the coach asked me what position I played, I told him that I play any position that you need me for! It was at this time that the coach asked me to play defense; so I traded in my short stick for a long pole and began to learn the coaching philosophy of my new team. The programs were different between New Jersey and North Carolina but I dedicated myself to not only play a different position but to develop new relationships and friendships, and provide continuous support to my new team.
Starting a new school as an 8th grader was very difficult. I left my friends and family back in New Jersey to start a new chapter in my life. My parents focused heavily on my education and grades and I have always maintained honor roll status. My parents have also instilled in me that nothing comes easy and that hard work builds character and success. Besides being involved in lacrosse with my high school, and other school activities, I also work a part time summer job in order to learn self-independence. I see the sacrifice, commitment, love, and success that my parents have achieved in life and in their careers. I hope one day to not only play lacrosse at the collegiate level but to find success in everything that I set out to accomplish.
