Hey, future coach, my name is Ty.
I am currently 18 and a post grad at thee Spire Institute Academy. What sets me apart from other recruits is my hard work and determination, regardless of my age and my multi-sport career. I've always been younger, but that doesn't deter me athletically or academically. I believe I will succeed most in college with continuing lacrosse at this level; the team camaraderie, the focus on exercise and health, the competition, the desire to make coaches proud, the need to get things done, and the high expectations are where I will thrive most.
I played football (linebacker and running back) in highschool and still also wrestle (states and WPIAL qualifier) as well as lacrosse at Spire Institute. Football and wrestling I enjoy, but have always participated because they enhance my lacrosse ability as face off and middie. Being a multi-sport athlete by far makes me more well rounded, makes me organize my time, a team player, and, as you can see, my grades in higher level classes at my old top level high school speak for themselves. I never quit, I never take days off, and I want to win for my team and for myself.
I am fun, supportive, encouraging, caring, determined, trustworthy, dependable, obsessed with with doing my best. Lacrosse only brings these things out of me more which is one of the many reasons I love it.
Thank you for looking into my profile, and I hope to hear of future interest. I pride myself in not disappointing.
Fondly, Ty Shields
