Xander Bongcayao '22 Recruiting Profile

Through my years of playing youth to high school lacrosse, I have gained insight that I will carry with me for the rest of my life. One of the most important lessons that I have learned is to always staying focused of my goals. Like life, the game keeps going, even when you make mistakes. Being a student athlete has taught me that I can recognize what went wrong and continue to concentrate on the all that comes next. Athletics has also taught me the importance of discipline both on and off the field.

To be successful  in school, sports and life, I will need to make sacrifices to realize my ambitions. Whether it is pushing a little harder in practice and putting in that extra hour of studying, being a student athlete has help me learn to prioritize my goals in order to achieve those that are most important to me. However, sometimes we cannot accomplish everything on our own. As an athlete I have learned that teamwork is critical aspect of success.
