Matthew Barraco '22 Recruiting Profile

 My biggest personal accomplishment of high school lacrosse so far was winning my school’s Boys Lacrosse Rookie of the Year Award. I feel that I was able to grow exponentially as a student-athlete this year when I learned the value of hard work. The experience that made this transformation possible was transitioning from being a second string Junior Varsity face-off man to earning substantial varsity time. This experience has made me realize that if I keep working hard, I will be able to play at the next level.

I was fortunate enough to be part of an amazing team in my freshman year with my team having an undefeated regular season and winning the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference. I have learned this year the amount of commitment, hard work and sacrifice that it takes to play at that high level of intensity. In my 9 years of playing lacrosse, I have come to realize that I can never stop working or people with catch up with me.  I believe with that mindset and talent, I can compete in college lacrosse and fulfill my dream of winning a national championship. I hope to do so at a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically.
