Growing up, I have been raised by my Mom, a schoolteacher, and Dad, an army veteran and retired firefighter. Through their professional work, examples of leadership, and charitable acts, they are good stewards of the community and have taught me to be socially responsible and giving of myself to others. My parents have instilled in me a superior work ethic and high degree of moral character.
I am a driven two-sport student athlete who strives for success in both the classroom and on the field. My challenging academic course load is filled with Honors and AP courses at Dutch Fork HS, a top 25 nationally ranked STEM magnet in Irmo, SC. On the lacrosse field, I am a two-way midfielder and attackman. A high degree of lacrosse IQ, and the ability to play with both hands equally well sets me apart from other players. I am comfortable playing anywhere on the offensive end and can see the field well from any position. A strong knowledge of offensive and clearing concepts/schemes, combined with my intensity and physicality, allows me to play effective defense in transition and in set. I began playing lacrosse when I was little and fell in love with the creator’s game. While I would love to compete for a division I program, I want to find the right fit for me academically and athletically, no matter the level.
Each of the last 3 Fall seasons, I have played on one of the best high school football teams in the country. The Dutch Fork High School football team consistently stays in the national rankings and has won 6 of the last 7 5A SC state football titles, falling only in 2021 in the state final. That was an especially difficult season for me and my teammates as we witnessed one of our brothers die on the football field in the second week of our game season. We played the rest of that season in his honor and fell just short on the last play of the final game, losing in the state championship and ending a 65-game unbeaten streak. The feeling of disappointment was unsettling and catalyzed our team this past season as we regained our title in dominant fashion, in spite of critical injuries early in the season. We got the opportunity to redeem ourselves and win for our friend, handily beating the team that slipped by us in the previous final. I learned many lessons from that experience, and I’m so proud of the team’s tremendous response to great tragedy.
