Zane Smith '20 Recruiting Profile

Even though I have played soccer sweeper, basketball guard, and football linebacker, I am passionate about playing lacrosse. My grandfather, who played midfield for the University of Baltimore (National Champions in the 1950s), has passed on his love for the sport to me. I was the only Freshman starter on my high school team made up of Juniors and Seniors.

My family has endured several hardships including losing our home to flooding during Hurricane Florence 2018 and previously losing everything when we evacuated from the Middle East during the Arab Spring of 2011. I have learned that people can work hard to overcome difficult situations.These experiences make me face hard practices with ease and never give up in a game.These experiences have been the driving force pushing me to work hard in Honors and AP courses to excel and pursue a successful career.

I am the player who gives it his all, inspires his teammates, listens to coaches, and doesn't complain. I am the one who quietly wins the game.
