Being on Varsity as freshman was one of my goals this last past year. I achieved that goal midway through fall season and then pushed myself to be a starter before the first game of spring season. After starting in the second game over some seniors, I was happy but not impressed with myself. That being said I pushed for a better, faster, stronger, and the most important, a smarter lacrosse player for the rest of the season. By the time of the last game in spring season(quarter finals of state championship) I realized how this helped me to become a better player and why I was starting.
Lacrosse is a game that I've always had loved. However in Texas most kids love football. After finding the sport when I was 7, I realized that lacrosse was what I loved and grew passion for. I want to be a lacrosse player, someone who stands out in Texas, someone who is different from the rest. Lacrosse has built who I am as a player today. To play lacrosse you don't have to be fast, even though it's the fastest paced sport, you just have to be smart and coachable. You have to be willing to adapt to your environment and keep building your strength, skills, and lacrosse IQ. Lacrosse is about the one taking the drop step for the angle to play your man or the cutting off topside for the offense player to be on his weak side. It's all about being smart in this game and that's why I love it and stride to be a intelligent, coachable, and strong lacrosse player that any college coach would be pleased with.
