William Castellano '24 Recruiting Profile

My whole life I have been exposed to athletics, from the football field to the lacrosse field to running on a track. These experiences have taught me life and leadership skills I will never be able to find anywhere else.

From the moment I told my parents that I wanted to play a sport in college, they told me “Number one you have to give it 110% on and off the field, and number two academics is the key to success.” When I first started lacrosse I had an instant love for the sport. I knew that day my goal was to pursue this sport and play in college. I would love to go to a school that has an outstanding lacrosse program but most importantly go to a school that meets my academics goals and fits me personally. I have heard from some of my coaches who currently play in college that playing lacrosse and going to school is a big task. That said, with my strong discipline and hard work, I am confident I will achieve my goal.

Off the field I am active in many ministries with my church. For example, youth group, media, etc. Last summer our youth group participated in a mission trip in our own city. We helped out the city of San Antonio in many ways such as volunteering at the San Antonio Food Bank and packaged first aid bags for our military overseas.

I have been blessed to be able to travel around the USA and out of the country. I have been to places such as Ireland and Canada. While visiting these places I got a different perspective on how other people live and a different appreciation for my own country and the opportunities my mom and dad have given me.

I am excited about the recruiting journey I will be taking during my upcoming senior year and hope to find the right fit for my college career.
