Dunn Richards '11 Recruiting Profile

I am a 6' 4", 180 lb. goalie from Lynchburg, Virginia. I have been playing lacrosse for 6 years, 5 years in the goal. I have played on the E.C. Glass varsity team since my freshman year (3 years) and have been the starting goalie for the past 2 years. As the starting goalie in my sophomore year my percentage of saves was at 63%. I have competed with our club team (Blue Ridge Lacrosse Club) at the annual Fall Brawl Tournament in Fairfax for the past 4 years. I have a 3.07 GPA and a 1010 SAT score. I feel that the goalie is the defensive team leader; reading the game and directing strong defense with motivation. As a goalie, my primary goal is being able to communicate effectively with my defense and stop offensive plays before they happen. I play hard every time I strap on my helmet, never giving up and I always keep fighting in the cage. I realize that I have started this recruiting process late, but I still want to pursue playing collegiate lacrosse and explore opportunities at all divisions. I am looking for a college where I can obtain a degree in Physical Therapy/Sports Therapy. I am an Eagle Scout, work part-time and know the value of working hard on and off the field to achieve my goals. Financial assistance is going to be very important to me in the college selection process. I am open to exploring all schools that will challenge me academically and athletically.
