I’ve been playing lacrosse since age 8 and fell in love with the game right away. The biggest moment of my lacrosse life so far occurred last season. As a freshman I was grateful to make the High School Varsity team. As the year went on, I gradually saw more and more playing time and became the number four defender. Our team made it to the regional semi-finals. As the game went into three overtimes I began to see more playing time as the starters began to tire. Being a freshman, I was extremely nervous but being on the field in a big game, in that moment I was reminded why I love the game so much. We were playing in front of a huge crowd with the chance to upset the 4th ranked team in the State. I was able to make a couple of defensive plays that helped us achieve the biggest upset in school history.
The game has taught me self confidence, humility and the importance of being a reliable teammate. My most valuable assets are my work ethic and coachability. I’ve learned the importance of hard work and leading by example. I look forward to bringing all these qualities to a top college lacrosse program.
