Hello, my name is Gavin Crosby, and I’m from Bonney Lake, Washington. As a lacrosse close defender, I understand the responsibility of shutting down attackers and supporting my goalie. It’s a role that requires physicality, precision, and quick decision-making to protect the crease. In addition to the physical demands, mental resilience is essential—whether it’s learning from difficult losses, staying composed under pressure, or maintaining confidence throughout the game. I’ve been playing lacrosse for seven years, and I plan to continue throughout my academic journey. Currently, I’m a high school junior enrolled at Sumner High School and in my county’s trade school program, Pierce County Skills Center, where I am studying to be an Athletics Trainer/Physical Therapist. I aspire to attend a college that not only excels academically but also provides a supportive athletic environment. On top of being enrolled in two schools, I am also a part of the Sumner High School’s Army JROTC. Playing at both the high school, club, and international levels has given me the chance to compete alongside some of the most talented players.
While I may be one of the bigger players on the field, my speed, lacrosse IQ and situational awareness set me apart. I’d love the chance to talk more about how I can contribute both on the field and in the classroom.
