First of all, Thank You for checking my profile!
The reasons for me wanting to row in college are endless. The work ethic and the drive that you need in this sport are unmatched by any other sports I’ve tried (2nd Dan Black Belt in TaeKwonDo, NM Soccer Club defender). I find pleasure in the fact that you can never be perfect in this, there is always a PR to beat or a medal to win. The sport of rowing has helped me so much in life through so many aspects and I am thrilled to broaden them by rowing at the college level.
Rowing has entirely changed my mentality when it comes to work ethic, spanning from discipline to responsibility. It also introduced me to so many people and peers, which I hope, will grow when I row for crew. The physical aspects of rowing are also a very large part of why I want to row in college. I have changed my physique drastically due to the high cardiovascular health it gives you and the amount of fat it burns. I know that I can increase my physical performance by participating in college workouts.
In college, I am looking forward to challenging myself and being able to compete with the best athletes in this field. The feeling of becoming one organism with the boat and the crew is the most thrilling, not to mention the overpowering joy of getting a medal at the end of the race when you put 120% out there.
