Rowing to me is more than just a sport because when I am on the water nothing else matters.  

It has immensely improved my overall fitness and mental toughness.  I have learned the true meaning of perseverance, confidence, and the importance of teamwork.  I have created relationships with rowers and coaches that go beyond the sport.  Racing with my teammates creates an incomparable feeling.  The adrenaline and excitement of racing make me feel alive.  

Before rowing, other sports did not give me an opportunity to fully express my competitive nature.  Racing side-by-side against other teams, for me, is the true test of determination.  Rowing has taught me that heart and grit combined with technique and skill can overcome almost anything.

It is my goal to continue my rowing journey beyond high school.  I envision rowing and excelling at the collegiate level.  I am confident that rowing will remain a critical part of who I am and who I intend to become.
