I have had several highlights during my time on the St. Johns Crew Team. The first was winning the Spartan award after my ninth-grade year. The Spartan Award is the top award for any athletic team and is giving to an unselfishness individual. I also won the MVP award for the top male rower that past 2 years. However, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete my sophomore year when I was named captain of the crew team. That experience helped me grow as a person and lead me to re-focus my own efforts on becoming a solid rower, leader, and mentor. All of these will help me excel at rowing at the college level. I am fortunate to be apart of an amazing crew program and looking forward to be a part of an amazing program at the college level. I believe that I have the talent to compete at the college level, but the character, work-ethic, and leadership skills to make an immediate impact on your team.
Scholastically, this past year I won the Unsung Spartan award. This award is the highest honor that a junior can receive. Most importantly, I will conduct myself with honor and respect on and off the field and in and out of the classroom, knowing that the way I carry myself reflects my team, my coaches, and the school I attend.
