William Lahners '21 Recruiting Profile

Throughout my athletic career, I have never been so dedicated and motivated to a sport until I started rowing for Sarasota Crew. This program has changed who I am as a person and motivates me to better myself everyday, and that goes for anything I do. Although I have only been rowing for 2 years now, shortly after my first year (novice year) I earned the position as Assistant Captain of the Varsity squad of Sarasota Crew. Outside of the classroom and practice, I am an aspiring engineer and a private pilot. I love to prototype and create things in CAD software, then build them in real life. Being a private pilot, I have learned many things that will help me throughout my life and rowing career, such as risk management and discipline, which have been very helpful concepts to apply everywhere I go. I believe that I will be one of the most dedicated, honest and enjoyable recruits for your heavyweight rowing squad.
