The Viii also won Bedford head with the fastest overall time and I won Bedford autumn head Novice Sculls. I row starboard and can also scull. I also won a silver medal at National schools regatta in J15 1st Viii and J16 1st Viii in previous years. As a J16 Viii last year we went to the qualifiers at Henley Royal Regatta in the Temple Challenge Cup to gain valuable experience.
The teamwork and camaraderie that rowing brings, is very important to me, supporting one another to get through those tough sessions builds a bond that makes you go that extra mile for one another. It makes the commitment worthwhile. Commitment to the programme and the ability to adapt to the programme is something that I am prepared to give as I strive to maximise my potential in the sport.
I am Studying Design & Technology, Art and Business Studies at A level. These courses involve a lot of coursework, which means I have become a good time manager as I ensure my work and rowing commitments are all met. I am also a lead in the school tours team, where I show prospective parents and boys around the school. This year i have been appointed Head of Art, which is a great honour and i feel reflects my commitment to the subject.
I am eager to attend a U.S. college as I feel the collegiate system will enhance both my education and sporting potential. Making the top boat and bringing success to the crew is a main goal for my move to the United States.
