Rowing has taught me more than just the importance of endurance and physical strength; it’s shown me how to push beyond my limits and work as part of a team toward a shared goal. One of my proudest moments was leading my boat as stroke seat to a first-place finish at the Midwest Junior Rowing Championships. That victory was the culmination of months of hard work and pushing myself past limits I didn’t think were possible. I am thankful to my coaches for their guidance and am eager to hear their instructions and apply feedback immediately.
In addition to rowing, I am the principal cellist of the St. Louis Symphony Youth Orchestra and a National Merit Semifinalist. I believe my determination to balance rowing, music, and academics sets me apart, as I maintain high standards in each while still making time to be a leader and support system for my teammates. What I love about rowing, as well as music and STEM, is the opportunity to connect with diverse people who each bring something unique into my life. I’ve had many leadership opportunities and truly enjoy motivating others and getting to know them.
As a collegiate rower, my goal is to continue improving my performance and contribute to a team where hard work and camaraderie are central. I will remain coachable, resilient, and committed to always giving my best.
