Hello! Thank you for your time and interest in reviewing my profile. Although I am new to rowing, I am not a novice when it comes to high-performance athletics. Starting six months ago, I decided to transfer my energy, dedication, and motivation from tennis to rowing. As a USTA player with a top 20 ranking in the East (10-16’s) and a 10.2 UTR before the age of 14, I felt confident that I have the focus and athletic ability to be a competitive rower.
As with all sports, there is a learning curve to master required skills. With rigorous training and outstanding coaching at Row NJ, I have made a giant leap forward in a short time (achieving a sub-6:50 2K the first time!). As a rising senior, I am determined to achieve the highest levels of the sport on both land and water.
Off the water, my dedication to academics is equally essential. My GPA is 4.0 (5.0 weighted) earned through a rigorous International Baccalaureate program offered by my high school. In addition to the IB diploma program, I also take AP courses to add more depth to my studies. In class, I am consistently enthusiastic, a self-starter, and a willing participant. Looking ahead to college, I will continue to place a high priority on my studies.
In addition to academics and athletics, I have dedicated time and effort to projects and activities for which I have a lot of passion. Extending my love of tennis, I founded TENNIS EVERYONE. This program is committed to supporting local youth sports and recreation programs through generous donations of gently used tennis equipment collected from local clubs. TENNIS EVERYONE has allowed me to introduce tennis and fitness to youths who otherwise might not have the opportunity to learn and play tennis. I have also been very active with extracurriculars at my high school, including the Founder and President of the Economics & Finance Club, a Student Supervisor for the REACH program, and playing 1st Singles on the tennis team. In addition, with interest in state and local government, I was selected for the Youth Advisory Council (YAC) and recruited to be a member of the Morris County Analytics Caucus.
As my tenure with rowing has just begun, I am committed to continuous improvement and accomplishment. I look forward to progressing in my athletic pursuit, leading by example and ensuring that any team for which I am a member is proud to have me as a teammate!
