Hello Coaches! My name is Ben Brown. I am a 2022 port rower for Moorestown Rowing Club. I started rowing freshman year after my mom recommended it to me. The second I stepped into the boathouse I fell in love with the sport. I love being on the water and working hard on the erg. A lot of people hate the erging because of how challenging it is, but I absolutely love it. I love seeing how hard I can go and love to watch my scored go down. When it comes to sports I have always been a team player. I love to push the other guys in the boat to be the best they can be. I was named captain this year and was very grateful. I took my job seriously and made sure that everyone was motivated and ready to work the second we stepped into the boat. I love to see the other rowers on my team have fun, but more importantly, improve as a rower. Rowing in college is a huge dream of mine. I want to continue this sport for as long as I can and continue to compete at a higher level. My novice year my team saw potential in me and pushed me very hard. I soon began to compete with varsity rowers and continued to drop my times over the season. I established myself as a dominant rower for my class and continued to chase the seats of the older kids. I didn't let anything hold me back and had zero excuses for myself. I knew that if I worked harder I could be at the top in no time. Now in my junior season I am the second best erg in my club and have goals on becoming the first. In school I also work very hard. I maintain above a 4.0 GPA and love to challenge myself with AP and Honors courses. I want to learn as much as I possibly can in and out of the boat.
