Personal Statement
My name is Suhan Venkat and I am 15 years old. I currently row on behalf of Texas Rowing Center's Varsity Men's Team. I entered rowing in December of 2021 and from the start, I faced many problems that made me want to quit. However, as I continued rowing and getting on the water, the confidence I developed from doing so made me enjoy the sport. Furthermore, the resilience I gained from the ups and downs as a novice rower has transferred to other parts of my life, such as academics. Ever since joining rowing, I have had increased motivation to be the best form of myself and I hope to continue rowing and reach the collegiate level (D1 or Ivy Leagues), to continue improving in a competitive environment.
