Theo Givens '20 Recruiting Profile

My name is Theo Givens. I was born in France (Paris) in October 2001 and moved to the US in 2014. I will graduate from high school in 2020.

My passion for soccer comes from my older brother and my father. I joined my first club when I was 4 (ESPA Paris) and never stopped since. During my 12 years of soccer I played various positions on the field, but my sweet spots are as an offensif mid fielder or a forward.

My experience of both European soccer (very technical) and US soccer (very athletic) truly influence my game. Before I moved to the US, I was spotted in 2012 by a ligue 1 professional team ASSE (AS Saint Etienne) and went through 4 tryouts rounds out of 5 with the French National Team selection process (Clairefontaine).

In 2014 I won with the Chicago Fire Pre Academy the State cup and scored a hat trick in the final game.

I joined the varsity team of my high school as a Freshman and became its captain as a sophomore. I was best conference scorer of both my high school (18 goals / 11 assists) and my Club (Northwind).

After moving to Austin Texas, I joined the Westwood varsity soccer team as a Junior (season 2018-2019). The team won the district for the first time since 2003 and I scored 18 goals (best team striker) including four goals in the final game for first place.

My five strengths on the field are: 1/ My game vision and ability to create space with precise one touch passes, 2/ I am left footed but can play both feet, 3/ I am 6.3 feet and have very strong ball protection skills, 4/ I'm a team player and will always put the team first, 5/ I am smart on the field and always create danger in front of the goal.
