Personal Statement

Dear Coach


My name is Leif Lofquist, a 2021 graduate from Kenai Central High School. I am interested in attending a division one or division two university, ideally with a Christian foundation and strong soccer team. 

I've been one of the leading goal scorers for both my high school and club team, Arsenal, for the past two years and have also started varsity since I was a freshman.  Last year, my sophomore year, I made the all state team. 

I live on the Kenai Peninsula so the closest club team is in Anchorage, (150 mile drive).  Over the summer I would take a flight to anchorage and ride my bike from the airport to the fields for practice about three days a week.  Many tournaments for Arsenal have been out of state for Presidents Cup and other region tournaments.   I have a 4.0 GPA and I am currently enrolled in two honors high school classes. 

I am excited for my next challenge and believe I would be an asset to your soccer program.

  • I played for the Kenai soccer club up until 8th grade. The soccer club on the peninsula doesn't extend past that age. I played in Anchorage on the AYSC team for a summer in 9th grade, but it is 350 miles away and the travel back and forth was difficult. After that the club asked me to play as a guest for travel tournaments and tournaments in Anchorage.
