I grew up around sports in Montana and then Alaska. My brother wrestled and my Dad coached football and wrestling, and so my first sport was Freestyle wrestling. I also played soccer for 2 seasons, but once I tried hockey I was hooked - at 9 years old. :)
I learned to skate after the Christmas break, then played a full season of rec league hockey on a girls team. I really wanted to play on a more competitive team, so I tried out for a Boys AA Comp team in 2011/2012 season and I've competed at Boys Comp AA then Tier 1 AAA level ever since. I also went out for and made my South Anchorage high school boys Varsity team last season, where we made it to the state finals for large schools, but lost a tough game to a very good team. It was an incredible experience!
My Alaska Oilers U16AAA boys Club team is an excellent group, and we have competed at the U14AAA and then U15AAA National tournaments in 2016 and 2017. Our goal is to win Pacific Districts again this year and advance to Nationals a third straight year.
USA Hockey. I was selected to participate in multi-District and National Selects camps for girls for USA hockey in 2015, 2016 and 2017.
I was selected to the USA Hockey Women's Goalie Development Camp in 2017. It was an awesome camp with top notch coaching and facilities.
I consider myself to be a very competitive and committed player and teammate. My parents are very supportive of me in everything I do. My Dad coached football for 21 years, and I learned many things at practices and on the sidelines. One thing that sticks with me is that when a team plays for each other and they are unselfish, that team can accomplish anything.
I know my grades are very important, and I work hard to maintain an honor roll position and a 4.0 GPA. I am still not sure what I want to study in college, but I am interested in Physical Therapy.
I want to win an Alaska boys high school hockey state championship. A second goal is to play hockey in college at a high level. My ultimate goal is to earn a spot on the USA National team and represent my country in the Olympics. I love playing hockey and would be on the ice every day if I could be!
