Christian Mason '22 Recruiting Profile

Hello,

My name is Christian Mason and I play for Calgary Foothills Soccer Club for Foothills 17 as an outside back and a center back. I got into soccer about 2 years ago, and I’ve been hooked ever since. It’s thanks to soccer I have been able to develop not only physical, but mental aspects of the game that have helped me throughout my high school years. I’m willing to put in the hard work during the off-season and the actual season. Striving to achieve my individual athletic and academic goals, but as well as achieving team goals and celebrating team successes is paramount to growing as a person. I always try to do my best and be curious about my mistakes whilst maintaining a positive attitude on and off the pitch. Strong attributes I bring to the table include pace, aggression, and relentless workrate chasing after every ball anticipating  plays and movement whilst maintaining composure. I also have comfort in the fact that I can play off both feet to add a layer of unpredictability to the game. I especially excel in recovery runs as I can get back across the field quickly to delay or neutralize an attacking threat. Going forward, I have a lot to offer as I can play quick 1-2 passes and either cut in or cross, playing on the break is one of my favourite things to do as I can move into space and shake off my man. I’m looking forward to  to continuing my amazing journey through college and help others achieve their own successes as well.
