My name is Connor Saunders and I currently attend Chinook High School in Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. I have played soccer for my whole life and it has been a very important sport for me, I've always had a huge passion for the game. I am a very well travelled soccer player having played in England, Trinidad and now Canada. I hope to gain the opportunity to soon play in the United States as well.
I play mainly as an attacking midfielder and I have become successful in this position due to my vision and ability to pick out a good pass, I also have a great knowledge of tactics due to coaching badges earned during my time in England. This helps my positioning and contributes to my ability to score goals and make space for myself while on the attack.
As a player I am fully committed to the team and will give my all for the team every game and every practice. I work very well as a team player and have developed a strong relationship with all my team mates leading to me being named captain for 2 years. In my youth career days I was selected for trials with then English Premier League team Portsmouth FC. I have a lot of experience at a top level of soccer from years of competing in England and now Canada. Playing for my high school team in England we won the Hampshire Cup and built a very good reputation for the way we played, I started a high percentage of our games and built a very key role within our squad. I moved to Canada in August 2014 and have settled in well finding lots of playing time with a local club where we have come close to winning 2 tournaments and as a player I have helped with a few goals and assists along the way. In the past I have won numerous awards for MVP in Soccer camps and previous clubs, as well as player of the season/tournaments.
I am a very determined person and have always tried my hardest to continually better myself, in order to achieve this I have spent a lot of my extra time doing additional training to better my skills and make myself a more competitive player amongst my team. The competition in my team really encourages me to do better as I strive from the pressure put on me by other players. I also work a similar way in terms of academics and aim to always study hard to increase my grade.
My main goal has always been to play soccer at the highest level possible and the chance to play pro soccer would be a great opportunity to test myself amongst even higher quality opponents and hopefully through the use of pro level facilities improve my skills within the sport.
